AIMA Canada's Strategy Paper Series

The purpose of the Series is to provide readers with an in-depth, practical review of specific hedge fund strategies. The Series includes specific strategy papers and companion papers on select topics. For a basic review of the different hedge fund strategies, please refer to AIMA Canada's Hedge Fund Primer.   

The strategy papers address the following key questions:

  • What is the strategy?
  • What are the nuts and bolts of the strategy
  • What are the different approaches to the strategy?
  • What are the sources of return for the strategy?
  • What are the key risk factors of the strategy?
  • What is the historical performance of the strategy?
  • What is a practical example of the strategy?

Note that the papers in the Series have generally been written and reviewed by industry practitioners. The papers are generic in nature and designed to be educational. The examples in the papers have generally been simplified, to convey the key concepts of the hedge fund strategy.
